The market is saturated with dietary supplements. It is easy to get confused about the benefits and ingredients when the advertising is unclear, misleading, or downright convoluted. Some promise muscle mass with no weight training, some claim to melt weight off with no dieting necessary, and others insist they can provide endless energy all day without any sleep the night before. Any brand that promises something with no effort or change in behavior should really be considered suspect. Stimulants and chemicals that are found in some fat burning diet pills can raise the heart rate, destroy the digestive system, and deplete cells of oxygen. Think about it for a minute, if there were miracle powders and pills, people would not be obese and out of shape in the first place.

That is not to say that all supplements are useless, because there are some that are helpful to many people. Natural supplements that are developed using scientific research can enhance efforts toward losing weight, increasing nutrients in the body, and getting physically fit. When people put forth real effort, eat healthy, and exercise regularly, supplements can maximize results and keep people motivated. The combination of ingredients in any formula is the key to long lasting results. Green tea, for example, is known to aid the body in burning fat. Some people drink it to help maintain a healthy weight. That one ingredient alone will not provide quick visible results to a change in eating habits. Add some plant derivatives to the mix, like synephrine and forskolin, that also burn fat and increase the metabolism and results are now at full potential.

The concept of combining ingredients that work well together into one formula is referred to as stacking. Stacking can be a powerful tool in the fight to lose weight and tone the body. Consumers need to be careful when taking supplements. They are not recommended for people under the age of eighteen, or those with certain health issues. Always check with a doctor before starting an exercise program or taking supplements. The most common dose is two capsules or tablets per day. If stomach cramps or nervousness occurs, reduce the dose to one tablet until the body develops a tolerance for the formula.
